Friends of MacArthur Beach State Park was awarded the 2022 Environmental Stewardship Award at the Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Awards Ceremony.  The Friends received the award for successfully incorporating sustainable efforts and practices into their operations and inspiring and educating Palm Beach North Chamber members and the community to adopt sustainable practices into their lives.

Friends of MacArthur Beach State Park’s Executive Director, Veronica Frehm accepted the award on behalf of the Friends.  “We are honored to be recognized by the Palm Beach North Chamber, and be a part of this amazing organization” says Veronica.  “We strive to educate everyone who visits our beautiful Park on the importance of sustainability and conservation in order to obtain balance in our environment and lives. We want our visitors to know that they can make a difference, every small action adds up” she adds.

John D. MacArthur Beach State Park, Palm Beach County’s only state park, is situated on a barrier island between the Atlantic Ocean and the Lake Worth Lagoon. The Park is made up of 436 acres of pristine coastal land and contains four different communities or habitats including seven species of plants and twenty-two species of animals on the endangered or threatened list.  MacArthur Beach is truly an “Island in Time”.
