Beach Clean-Ups

Join us every 3rd Saturday of the month for a few hours of sun and surf, and help keep our pristine beach healthy! Meet at the lower platform of the main crossover. 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. Gloves, garbage grabbers, and buckets provided – Please wear comfortable shoes, bring sun block and a refillable water bottle. High School community service hours given if requested – Children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

Bird Talk & Walk

Join a Park Ranger to explore the MacArthur Beach while you view our seasonal and resident birds. This program is offered once per month, November-April, and is scheduled around low tide in order to see wading birds in the estuary. Free with Park admission, but registration is required! For more information and to view the upcoming dates for this program, please visit our event calendar. For reservations, call Park Services Specialist Alaina Miller at 561-776-7449 x108. This program resumes on Saturday, November 4th, 2023 and is best for ages 10 and up. Participants should be prepared to walk one mile or more, to stand for over an hour, and should bring water. Binoculars are encouraged.

Citizen Science Marine Debris Program

Come participate in our Citizen Science Marine Debris Citizen Program at John D. MacArthur Beach State Park!
This project was designed to increase awareness of the marine debris and provide an outlet for YOU to take action!  All visitors and self-exploration groups are welcome to participate, it is available during the hours that the Nature Center is open daily (10:00a.m.-4:00p.m.), or by special request. Guided Nature Walks

Join us on Sundays and Mondays for a guided exploration of MacArthur Beach State Park!  

Join a volunteer or ranger for a walk along the boardwalk, through the forest and to the beach. You will learn about the ecosystems of the Park, the wildlife that call it home, as well as Park history. Each walk is about 1 mile long and may include some uneven terrane and stairs. Free with Park admission. Bring plenty of water and sun protections. Groups with 15+ people must email Alaina Miller to coordinate a separate tour.

Secret Lives of Snakes

Meet our snake ambassadors, learn about their habits and habitats. Every 2nd Sunday of the month in the amphitheater at 1 p.m. This program resumes on Sunday, October 8th and is good for all ages.
