NORTH PALM BEACH, Fla. — If you love the outdoors and sea turtles, John D. MacArthur Beach State Park in North Palm Beach is offering a couple of fun events in June.

Citizen scientists, led by MacArthur Beach State Park staff, will have a chance to excavate loggerhead sea turtle nests five days after the first signs of the turtles hatching and leaving the nest.

During the free event, you will follow state regulations and protocols on egg excavation and hand dig into the nests.

Eggs will then be sorted with nest productivity and hatchling success determined.

Training takes place June 8 and June 29 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
