NORTH PALM BEACH – A local nonprofit that supports the county’s only state park has chosen a new executive director.
After an extensive search, Friends of MacArthur Beach State Park announced Monday it had appointed Veronica Frehm to the role.
The organization’s longtime director of education, she takes over for Cheryl Houghtelin, who retired last month.
“The board is excited to welcome Veronica in her new role as the executive director and to lead the Friends into the future,” board President Julie Miles said. “Her enthusiasm [and] extensive knowledge of the park and its education programs made it an easy decision.”
Founded in 1990, Friends of MacArthur Beach State Park works to provide supplemental resources to preserve, restore, and interpret the natural and cultural assets of the 438-acre park.
